Transformational Art
Life → Death → Skull → Art
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, my art is about transformation.
Life itself is a powerful transformation. Think about it: our bodies grow, evolve, break, heal, and carry us through every experience. When life ends, the skeleton remains—a vessel once filled with vitality. The skull, in particular, becomes a striking foundation for new expression.
My work honors the animal that once lived through turning its skull into something beautiful and meaningful. Every piece is a continuation of the animal’s journey—another transformation. Whenever possible, I seek to learn and share the story of each animal, as a way to honor its life and spirit.
My technique is inspired by the Huichol artists of central Mexico, whose intricate beadwork has captivated me for decades. Like the animals themselves, no two pieces are alike. Each design is born from a theme, a feeling, a color palette—an experience. Thousands of glass beads are meticulously embedded, one by one, into a special beeswax medium. As the design takes shape, a new story begins to emerge.
Once finished, I apply a protective seal to preserve the piece for generations. To protect it, please avoid direct sunlight or heat.
